Privacy policy

Last updated 15 October 2026

Short version: this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, the app sends nothing anywhere, and the only personal data we hold is what it takes to sell you a subscription and answer your email.

1. Who is responsible

The controller for the data described here is [developer's legal name], an individual based in Bulgaria, reachable at the address in section 8. Our payment provider, the merchant of record named at checkout, is a separate controller for the data it collects to process your payment; its own privacy policy applies to that.

2. This website

  • The site is static. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other websites.
  • Our hosting provider receives the usual technical data a browser sends when it requests a page, such as your IP address, browser and the time of the request, and may keep it in server logs for security and troubleshooting for a short time. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.

3. Buying a subscription

Checkout runs on our payment provider's pages. The provider collects what it needs to take payment and issue an invoice: your name, email address, country, billing details and payment method. We never see your card number.

From the provider we receive your name, email address, country, and the subscription's status (active, cancelled, refunded). We use these to issue your license, to tell you about the subscription and updates, and to keep the records that tax law requires.

4. Your license

A license is tied to one computer at a time. To issue or move it we may need an identifier of that computer, which the app shows you and which you send us. We store it with your license record so we can tell which computer is licensed. It identifies a machine, not a person, and it is not used for anything else.

5. The app

  • StoiK runs entirely on your computer. It does not connect to the internet, send usage data, crash reports or any other data to us or anyone else.
  • Your ECU files, projects, definitions and formulas stay on your disk. We never receive them unless you choose to email one to us for support.
  • Licenses arrive with version 1. The license file will be stored on your computer, and the app will read it locally to check that it is valid; nothing will be sent.

6. Email

Email to contact@stoikeditor.app is received by Cloudflare, which handles our domain's email, and forwarded to our mailbox at Google (Gmail), where we read it, answer it and keep it. Both companies may process it outside the European Union, including in the United States.

When you write to us we keep the correspondence, including any files you attach, for as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of what was agreed. Files you send for support are deleted once the question is settled unless you ask us to keep them.

7. How long we keep data

  • Subscription and license records: for the life of the subscription and for the period tax and accounting law requires afterwards, which in Bulgaria is up to ten years for accounting records.
  • Email: until the matter is closed and for a reasonable time afterwards, normally no more than two years.
  • Server logs: as our hosting provider sets, normally days to weeks.

8. Your rights and how to reach us

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you can ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Deleting your subscription records before the legal retention period ends is not possible, but we will stop using them for anything else.

Write to contact@stoikeditor.app. If you think we have handled your data wrongly you can also complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (cpdp.bg) or to the data protection authority of the country you live in.

9. Changes

If this policy changes we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data we already hold, we tell subscribers by email first.
